Hilton invests in great Queensland lifestyle and good jobs

Ground has broken in Brisbane for a new $50 million investment in Queensland’s great visitor lifestyle by U.S hotel brand Hilton.

Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe and Hilton Area Vice-President Paul Hutton today kicked off construction of the 129-room Hilton Garden Inn at Spring Hill.

“The Hilton Garden Inn is a welcome investment in Queensland’s visitor economy and Brisbane jobs,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

“We know quality, well-located accommodation is always sought-after by business and leisure visitors to Brisbane.

“The $50 million Hilton Garden Inn is a sign of confidence in Queensland’s post-pandemic tourism recovery.

“This project will support 100 good, Queensland construction jobs - and once completed - 45 tourism industry careers.

“With 129-rooms at Spring Hill, the Hilton Garden Inn is perfectly positioned to leverage global interest in Queensland ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“The start of construction of the Hilton Garden Inn follows the launch of Queensland’s Towards Tourism 2032 strategy to more than double the State’s visitor economy to $44 billion by 2032.

“A growing visitor economy means more demand for local accommodation, hospitality and tourism experiences.”

Hilton Area Vice-President Paul Hutton said the Hilton was delighted to partner with Spring Hill Property Group and Image Developments to bring the award-winning Hilton Garden Inn brand to Brisbane.

“Hilton is committed to growing its presence in Queensland and Hilton Garden Inn Brisbane City Centre North will mark Hilton’s fifth hotel in Queensland and second in Brisbane, being a fantastic addition to Hilton Brisbane located on Elizabeth Street,” he said.

“As a key Australian city and the gateway to Queensland, the coming years will be an exciting time for Brisbane, especially with the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“With the hotel due to open in the fourth quarter of 2024, Hilton Garden Inn Brisbane City Centre North is excited to pave the way for savvy new travellers who visit the city to experience Hilton Garden Inn’s renowned, positive, upbeat service.”
