Speaking in Parliament today Education Minister Grace Grace said the 2022 School Opinion Survey had strong results across the board.

“I know it, school communities know it, Queenslanders know it, and this survey proves it: state schools are great schools,” Ms Grace said.

“Each year, the Department of Education conducts the School Opinion Survey to seek the opinions of parents, caregivers, students, and school staff about important aspects of schooling.

“I am delighted to see that students, staff and parents and carers who participated in the survey are supportive of their schools and think they are doing a great job.

“The survey is a great opportunity to identify areas for improvement too.

“The Palaszczuk Government is doing the work to make our great state schools even greater with our record $16.5 billion education budget.

“We’re making sure our great Queensland lifestyle is supported every day through the good jobs and better services our schools provide.”

Celebrating World Teachers’ Day on the last day of State Education Week, Minister Grace thanked Queensland teachers for their hard work.

“Teachers make a huge difference to their students’ lives and futures,” Ms Grace said.

“I encourage all Queenslanders to take the opportunity to celebrate the teachers in their lives, both past and present.

“We have all had special teachers in our lives either through our own schooling or our children’s education – they are truly the foundation of our great education system.”
