The Honourable Yvette D'Ath

Brisbane residents have even more opportunities to get the COVID-19 vaccine this week with clinics popping up across the city.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said the Queensland Government is continuing to encourage vaccination by taking clinics to the people, with new pop-up clinics operating across the capital city this week, including at Brisbane City Hall and the Brisbane Disability Expo at the Royal International Convention Centre at Bowen Hills.

“The Brisbane City Hall pop-up vaccination clinic is well located to target city workers and visitors. If you’re passing by and yet to be vaccinated, or due for your second dose, please come forward,” Minister D’Ath said.

“Make it a priority to get vaccinated – and come before or after work, or on your lunch break. I also encourage employers to bring their workforce down to get vaccinated during the day.

“The upcoming Brisbane Disability Expo will provide the opportunity for thousands of people with disability to get the support and information they need to access services and enhance their lives in meaningful and practical ways.

“Queensland Health staff will be available at the disability expo to talk with people and their carers about the vaccination and to help them make informed decisions about getting vaccinated.

“We want vaccinations to be accessible to everyone in the community, which is why we’re opening pop-up clinics at popular events throughout October such as the disability expo.

“Last weekend’s Mosaic Multicultural Festival in Brisbane and school pop-up clinics across the state allowed thousands of Queenslanders to get their first or second dose.

“This week’s pop up clinics at Brisbane City Hall and the Brisbane Disability Expo will lead into another weekend of vaccination opportunities, with vaccinations also available at more than 30 Bunnings stores across the state."

The Brisbane City Hall pop up clinic will operate over five weekdays from this Wednesday (13th October) for city workers and visitors.

It will operate from Wednesday 13 October, and from 10am on Thursday and Friday this week, and Monday to Tuesday next week. Last vaccinations will be at 5.20pm daily.

The Brisbane Disability Expo will be open this Friday and Saturday with vaccinations available between 9am and 3pm.
