Round four Country Racing Program applications open

The fourth round of funding for the Country Racing Program (CRP) infrastructure grants will open today, Racing Minister Grace Grace has announced.

The Palaszczuk Government has committed more than $105 million since 2017 to support country racing clubs.

“Part of this investment includes the CRP grants which provides $2.6 million per year in infrastructure grants to assist with repairs and maintenance and construction of new facilities throughout Queensland,” Minister Grace said.

Minister Grace said the latest round of CRP grants would deliver jobs, infrastructure improvements and community benefits across the state.

"The Country Racing Program continues to pay dividends across Queensland,” she said.

“Over the past three years, more than 220 CRP projects have been awarded, providing much-needed repairs and maintenance to 85 of our smallest country racing clubs.

“Just as importantly, it has delivered hundreds of jobs across the state.

“The largest CRP investment to date has been the $515,000 redevelopment of the Innisfail Turf Club, which saw improvement to the track and stalls, installation of better course drainage and the installation of a new water bore that will provide water to the Park and broader community.

“Thanks to the CRP, Pease Park was back up and running in time for the Banana Cup in August.

" Other benefits of this program importantly includes improved safety measures and creating much needed jobs for local tradies and apprentices across the state,” she said.

The fourth round of CRP applications opens today and will run through until Wednesday, October 13, 2021.
