Minister for Child Safety, Youth and Women and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence
The Honourable Di Farmer

It’s very disappointing to hear the White Ribbon Australia have entered into voluntary liquidation. This is a decision that has been made by the Board of the organisation independent of government.

We don’t want this news to discourage Queenslanders from continuing to combat domestic and family violence wherever it exists.  Many Queenslanders are raising funds for domestic and family violence organisations and I strongly encourage them to continue.

The Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to preventing and responding to domestic and family violence remains unwavering. Since the release of the Not Now, Not Ever report in 2015, we have invested $328.9 million over six years to deliver the recommendations of the report. I’m proud we have delivered 104 out of 121 recommendations from the report, and the final 17 are underway.

I urge those organisations that have achieved White Ribbon accreditation to maintain their commitment to tackling domestic violence.
