Minister for Transport and Main Roads
The Honourable Mark Bailey

QLD boaties hook a $30m boost for new and improved facilities

A funding boost for Queensland’s Marine Infrastructure Fund is set to lure boaties to their favourite fishing spots, with an additional $30 million committed over two years.

Minister for Transport and Main Roads Mark Bailey said the Palaszczuk Government would continue to deliver for boaties across the state in partnership with communities, councils, port and water authorities.

“When it comes to boating, Queensland is the place to be,” Mr Bailey said.

“One in 19 Queenslanders are recreational boating enthusiasts. That’s why the Palaszczuk Government is focused on building more facilities and essential improvements – so keen anglers can continue to enjoy their time on the water.”

Transport and Main Roads currently own and maintain 430 boat ramps, harbours, jetties, pontoons, floating walkways, channels and breakwaters valued at $153 million.
