Attorney-General Files Appeal
The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D’Ath has filed an appeal against the sentence imposed on James Ronald Lennox for rape.
In the Brisbane District Court on April 19 2018, 58-year-old Lennox was sentenced to four and a half years jail, suspended after 14 months, for the rape of a 27-year-old woman in Carindale in January 2016.
On the advice of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Attorney-General has lodged an appeal on the grounds that the sentence is manifestly inadequate.
A date has yet to be set for the Appeal to be heard.
