"He is also the Queensland State Recovery Policy and Planning Coordinator, assisting with the rapid recovery of communities following natural disasters.

“Mr Moon is a respected expert in community recovery and I am pleased he has agreed to take on this role.

“I have asked Mr Moon to be on the ground in Ingham as soon as possible so he can assess the work involved in assisting the residents in these flooded areas get back on their feet as quickly as possible.

“Yesterday, I travelled to Ingham to see first-hand the impacts of this flooding event."

"The teams on the ground are doing a great job and everyone is working together to get the job done and we need to get things back to normal for these communities,” the Premier said.

“Financial assistance and support services are available to residents directly affected by flooding in parts of North Queensland and the Government’s Community Recovery Hotline is up and running and people can contact them on 1800 173 349.”

The Premier urged all Queenslanders to remember, if it is flooded forget it, to always have a plan B and never take any risks around flood waters.
