Bruce gets a boost at Forest Glen

Motorists travelling the Bruce Highway will soon have a safer ride with resurfacing works planned at Forest Glen.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said the northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway from just before the Mons Road off-ramp (Exit 200) to the Nambour Connection Road off-ramp (Exit 201) would be resurfaced.

“The works will provide a better road surface and safer driving conditions for motorists on this heavily trafficked section of the Bruce Highway,” Mr Bailey said.

“This $2.3 million project will involve removing the existing surface, completing asphalt resurfacing and line marking.”

Mr Bailey said the project was due to start this month and should take about four weeks to complete, weather permitting.

“A lot of work has gone into making sure we work as efficiently as possible, with the least amount of disruption to traffic,” he said.

“The entire project will be completed at night between 7pm and 5am to minimise disruptions to nearby businesses and motorists.

“Motorists may experience some minor delays during the works; however, traffic controllers, reduced speed limits and signage will be in place to direct motorists.

“We thank everyone for their patience and remind motorists to be alert to changed traffic conditions to ensure safety through the worksite.”
