Townsville companies called to tender for office fit out works

The Palaszczuk Government has called eligible Townsville companies to tender for fit out works in a government office building in Townsville.

Member for Townsville Scott Stewart encouraged eligible local businesses to put their hand up for the Flinders Street office fit out, which would include new flooring and lighting as well as new workstations.

“The  project will involve fitting out training and conference facilities and general office space, including the installation of 55 workstations, new carpet and LED lighting throughout,” Mr Stewart said.

“This is a great opportunity for local business, with work on offer for a range of trades including electrical and flooring.

“This is another example of the Palaszczuk Government delivering key services and supporting jobs for Townsville locals, so I encourage eligible businesses with an office in Townsville to put in a tender.”

Minister for Housing and Public Works said the Palaszczuk Government’s ‘Buy Queensland’ procurement policy would come into effect on 1 September 2017, giving local suppliers improved access to government work.

“When the Palaszczuk Government spends taxpayers money on a government contract, we want that money to stay in the local community, helping local businesses to grow and supporting employment for local workers and apprentices,” Mr de Brenni said.

“I would strongly encourage every eligible Townsville business to get a tender in for this opportunity.”
