New CEO to lead South Bank Corporation
South Bank Corporation has a new Chief Executive Officer who will bring a wealth of industry and government experience to the role of overseeing one of Brisbane’s iconic destinations as it celebrates its 25th year.
Deputy Premier, Minister for Infrastructure and Planning and Member for South Brisbane Jackie Trad said Jemina Dunn would move from her position as Queensland State Director of Australian Industry Group to take up her new South Bank role on 10 July 2017.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jemina Dunn to the position of CEO of South Bank Corporation,” Ms Trad said.
“Jemina’s work with Ai Group since 2010, and her past positions in the Queensland Government including within the former Department of Infrastructure and Planning, leave her well placed to lead the South Bank Corporation.
“Jemina is a passionate advocate for great urban and sub-tropical design which are hallmarks of what make South Bank such an enduringly popular destination.
“In the year that South Bank celebrates its 25th year it is great to have Jemima’s passion and experience on board and I look forward to her leading this iconic destination to an exciting future.
“I would also like to acknowledge and thank outgoing Acting CEO David Lynch for his great work in the role over the past 9 months.
“He has provided real leadership and stability during this period of transition.”
South Bank Board Chair Catherin Bull said she was delighted the corporation was to be led by a CEO with the kind of education, skills and experience that Jemina Dunn brings.
“Not only with regard to planning and development, but of governance, government and management locally and nationally,” Dr Bull said.
“She is exceptionally well prepared to steer South Bank Corporation through its next stage of evolution and cement its role as Brisbane's, and indeed Queensland's, premier destination for locals and visitors alike."
Dr Bull also paid tribute to outgoing interim CEO David Lynch.
“We have had the real benefit of nearly 12 months' invaluable contribution from David Lynch who has assisted the organisation to reorient its focus towards the future, working to build a cooperative relationship with the many partners and stakeholders on whom the wellbeing of South Bank relies.”
