Refurbished Garbutt Customer Service Centre reopens

The $3 million refurbishment of Townsville’s Transport and Main Roads’ Customer Service Centre (CSC) at Garbutt reopens on Monday, November 28.

Transport Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the refurbished centre would deliver a new level of frontline customer service for Townsville.

“The completion of the refurbished centre at Garbutt is part of the Queensland Government’s commitment to providing efficient and convenient services to the residents of the north,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

“Customer service has always been the primary focus for Transport and Main Roads, and we’ve taken that focus to a new level with the renovation and re-opening of Townsville’s Garbutt service centre.

“Garbutt’s new look Transport and Main Roads centre features a concierge service and ten custom-built counters for relaxed, face-to-face interaction with centre staff.

“It’s a worthwhile investment in the services Transport and Main Roads delivers to the people of North Queensland.”

Member for Townsville Scott Stewart thanked customers for their patience during the refurbishment of the Garbutt Customer Service Centre.

“Mobile customer service units were provided by Transport and Main Roads, in addition to the existing Cannon Park centre, to maintain face-to-face services while the refurbishment was under way,” Mr Stewart said.

“The refurbishment of the Garbutt service centre has been a welcome and significant undertaking by the Queensland Government for our growing community with up to 100 local tradespeople contributing their expertise to the project.

“I’m very happy with what we’ve achieved with the new look Garbutt Customer Service Centre.”
