The Honourable Mark McArdle
Bundaberg workshop to shine light on proposed power price rise
Queensland energy users in Bundaberg will have the chance to voice their concerns over proposed electricity price increases at a workshop run by the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) on Friday 8 March, 2013.
Energy Minister Mark McArdle said Bundaberg residents could provide feedback that the QCA would consider in preparing the final price determination, schedule to be released on 31 May.
“I encourage residents and business owners in Bundaberg to attend and have their say at this workshop being organised especially for Bundaberg residents,” Mr McArdle said.
“The QCA recently released its draft determination on regulated retail electricity prices for the next financial year.
“The Government has made it clear that the proposed price increases outlined in the determination are unacceptable and we will be doing everything we can to reduce the impact on families and electricity users across the state.
“Formal written submissions can also be submitted to the QCA until 22 March.”
