Brisbane smartens up its tourist offering with a ‘Five in One’ card
Visitors to Brisbane can now purchase a ‘Five in One’ discount card to encourage them to stay longer and experience the city’s top tourism attractions, Queensland Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor said.
Speaking at the launch of the Brisbane Five in One card, Mr Lawlor said visitors using the card could save more than 30 percent on Brisbane’s top five attractions.
“The Brisbane Five in One card provides quick, cashless access to the city’s key tourist experiences which include entry to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the Story Bridge Adventure Climb, Kookaburra River Queen Cruises, Riverlife Adventure Centre and XXXX Brewery Tour,” he said.
“The five attractions included on the card were selected based on popularity, accessibility and their proximity to the Brisbane River.
“The card not only offers visitors huge cost savings, it also encourages them to stay longer and see more of our great city.
“The Brisbane Five in One card is the first of its kind for Queensland and has a successful track record in other domestic and international markets including, Sydney, Melbourne and Vancouver.
“Approximately 80,000 attraction passes are sold annually by Smart Visit Solutions in Sydney alone.”
Mr Lawlor said the introduction of the Five in One card places Brisbane in line with other global cities offering similar tourist products.
“Brisbane provides a great opportunity for a Five in One card which is perfect for international travellers, students or those visiting friends and family, who want to experience the best of Brisbane,” he said.
“We see the Brisbane Five in One card as a pilot project for Queensland, if successful there’s no reason why we couldn’t develop similar cards for other regions throughout Queensland.”
Mr Lawlor said the Brisbane Five in One card project was a joint initiative of Tourism Queensland and Brisbane Marketing.
The Brisbane Five in One card is on sale now and is available from the Visitor Information Centre in the Queen Street Mall, via the website at www.brisbanefiveinone.com and is sold throughout Brisbane-based hotels.
The Brisbane Five in One card costs $145 for adults and $109 for children, providing full entry to each of the experiences within five days from the card’s activation.
