Premier Anna Bligh is thrilled her team the Gold Coast Titans have the started the 2009 NRL season as winners – “coming from behind” to thrash the Newcastle Knights.

“And what’s more they did it at home at Skilled Stadium,” said the Premier.

More than 16,200 were on hand for the six-try to three win at the Stadium the Premier opened this time last year.

“The Knights led 14-0 by the 29th minute and thought it was all over. Gold Coasters never give up!”
