TWO DAYS TO GO: TALENT CALL FOR Q150 ENTERTAINMENT SHED’S 2ND TOUR

Premier Anna Bligh today called for talent to apply now for their chance to strut their stuff at Q150 Shed shows presented by the Bank of Queensland, in Blackall, Augathella, Cherbourg, Warwick, Gold Coast and Brisbane.

“Artists, performers, story tellers and bands: this is your final call for to audition for the Q150 shed touring Queensland in celebration of Queensland’s 150th anniversary of separation from New South Wales,” she said.

“There’s only two days to go. So hop on to your PC, laptop or telephone and apply now.

“We saw some brilliant talent apply for the first tour and we’d like to see as many talented Queenslanders as possible let their performance light shine before their home crowd in the Q150 Shed.

“If that’s you, this could be your big break. This is a once-in-a-150 year opportunity that could springboard your artistic career. Make sure you are in with a chance.”

Nominations close 5pm on Friday 20 February 2009. Nomination forms are available at www.q150.qld.gov.au.

Nominees should submit a completed Expression of Interest with support materials such as an artist biography, performance DVD, music CD, photographs and an activity proposal to: Q150 Shed Tour, PO Box 3943, South Brisbane Qld 4001.

The first tour of the Q150 Shed begins in June and the second tour begins in November 2009. Tickets and entertainment programs for the first tour will be available towards the end of March.

The first tour which begins in June travels to Mount Isa, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Maryborough and Caboolture.

The second tour which begins in November and for which audition opportunities close this Thursday, travels to Blackall, Augathella, Cherbourg, Warwick, Gold Coast and Brisbane.

The Q150 Shed is presented by Bank of Queensland and supported by XXXX, Clovely Estate, Bundaberg Rum and Coca-Cola.
