The Honourable Anna Bligh

Premier Anna Bligh has thanked retiring Member for Mulgrave, Local Government and Main Roads Minister Warren Pitt for his contribution to the people of Queensland, especially those in the Far North.

“He’s a real FNQ champion and we will miss him. His efforts as a Minister and especially for representing the Far North and rural and regional Queensland have to be admired,” said the Premier.

“He would not let cancer get the better of him and he was back at work quick smart.

“His efforts with Blueprint for the Bush and as an advocate for our regions, deserve a huge pat on the back.

“I wish Warren and his wife Linda all the best. They have been real champions for Mulgrave and the Far North.

“He was in the original class of 1989 and knows well the reality of political life - having lost his seat in 1995 and regaining it in 1998. He has been a Minister for more than five years and a real contributor.

“I thank Warren for his outstanding service over many years,” said the Premier.
