MEDIA ALERT – LOAD TESTING OF CLOSED SECTION OF CITY REACH BOARDWALK
-
The Port of Brisbane Corporation, on advice from engineering consultants, will undertake a load-bearing test on the closed section of the City Reach Boardwalk in front of Admiralty Quays, commencing tomorrow.
The test is being undertaken to determine what repairs are required to reopen the boardwalk. -
A vision/photo opportunity will be available on the closed section of the boardwalk (where the load-testing has been prepared) tomorrow morning, Thursday 4 February, from 8.00am to 8.30am.
-
The load-bearing test will occur over a 24-hour period. Access to the site during this period will be restricted to those personnel involved in the testing.
-
As the test site is a work construction site, a short safety induction will be required. While on the site, media will be required to remain under the direction of the supervisor. Closed-in shoes should be worn.
EVENT: Photo opportunity of load-bearing test on City Reach Boardwalk
VENUE: Access to the closed section of the boardwalk will be via the end of Boundary Street, near River Place Apartments.
