MEDIA ALERT - LAUNCH OF NEW ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Event

Launch of new road safety awareness campaign

Transport Minister John Mickel will this morning launch Queensland’s new road safety awareness campaign, Share My Story. The campaign deals with the impact of the road toll on people and families.  It is based on reaching drivers through an online social networking website, which is designed to share experiences of people affected by road crashes – in turn influencing attitudes and driving behaviours.

Mr Mickel will run through the new campaign’s social networking website and show the different advertisements, which will run throughout Queensland via television, print and online media.

At this morning event, media will be able to meet the people who have shared their story and who appear in the campaign’s advertisements. The advertisements feature the real stories, told by these Queenslanders, who have all been affected by a road crash.
