Minister for Tourism, Regional Development and Industry
The Honourable Desley Boyle
LNP Member for Burnett Rob Messenger has sought to mislead the people of Queensland by claiming he had not received answers to two questions on notice he lodged in Parliament last year.
The allegation has been proven to be incorrect by Tourism, Regional Development and Industry Minister Desley Boyle.
“In fact the very day he asked these questions my office contacted him and told him he had directed his questions to the wrong Minister,” Ms Boyle said.
“The truth of the matter is that Mr Messenger was too lazy to send the request to the right Minister.
“Mr Messenger has just proven he has no understanding of the tourism portfolio and my related responsibilities.
“A simple websearch that can be done by any member of the public would have clearly shown who is responsible for fair trading issues, the Attorney General.
“The people of Burnett should really question the quality of representation they are receiving when their local LNP member doesn’t even know who is responsible for regulation of fair trading issues.
“I suggest Mr Messenger familiarises himself with the responsibilities of this Ministry and logs onto http://www.premiers.qld.gov.au/policy/machinerygovt/.
“For Mr Messenger’s information I have attached a below an excerpt from the Administrative Orders outlining my Ministerial legislative responsibilities in this state,” she said.
