Minister for Communities, Disability Services, ATSIP, Multicultural Affairs, Seniors and Youth
The Honourable Lindy Nelson-Carr
Who to call for help during holidays
Communities and Disability Services Minister Lindy Nelson-Carr said Queenslanders with a disability may experience changes to services over the holiday season but emergency assistance will continue to be on hand.
“I would encourage Queenslanders with a disability, their carers and families to keep the Smart Services Queensland hotline number close to the phone or in an easy-to-find place,” said the Minister.
“We all experience some frustrations over the holiday season when our usual services and suppliers take a well earned break, or are running with reduced staff,” she said.
“But Smart Services Queensland will continue to operate 24/7 to make sure people who need to make contact with a service urgently will be referred to someone who can help.”
The number is 13 13 04 and hearing-impaired residents can contact the service through the National Relay Service on 13 36 77.
