Minister for Emergency Services
The Honourable Neil Roberts

MEDIA ALERT: Official opening of new ambulance stations at Oakey and Murgon

The official opening of new ambulance stations at Oakey and Murgon will be held tomorrow to mark their contribution to boosting the Queensland Ambulance Service’s capabilities in regional areas.

The $1.5 million Oakey Ambulance Station was built in response to continuing population growth in Oakey and surrounding areas. The station became operational on September 30 this year, replacing the old station that was originally constructed more than 30 years ago in 1971.

The new $2 million Murgon Ambulance Station also became operational in September this year, and provides a larger and more functional facility for staff than the previous station.

Minister for Emergency Services Neil Roberts will open both stations.

All media are invited to attend the station openings for interviews and photo opportunities.
