The Honourable Rod Welford
Education, Training and the Arts Minister Rod Welford is visiting Gladstone and Tannum Sands this weekend for the Bligh Government’s 12th Community Cabinet.
Mr Welford will be attending various events over the next two days as follows:
SUNDAY 7 DECEMBER
EVENT: Launch new arts initiative for regional Queensland communities
WHERE: Gladstone Regional Art Gallery, Cnr Goondoon and Bramston Streets, Gladstone
WHEN: Sunday 7 December, 11:30am
EVENT: Meet students who have been involved with the Akaltye Gladstone Project – a science program for local indigenous students
WHERE: Tannum Sands State High School, 65 Coronation Drive, Tannum Sands
WHEN: Sunday 7 December, 1:30pm
MONDAY 8 DECEMBER
EVENT: Launch two training initiatives:
- Central Queensland Institute of TAFE indigenous training partnership with Rio Tinto
- Clever Recruiting Gladstone Study which aims to create pathways to employment for students in partnership with local industry leaders.
