Transport Minister John Mickel will today mark International Day of People with Disability by welcoming the first of TransLink and QR’s revamped disability-friendly trains.
Mr Mickel will join representatives from disability organisations at Roma Street station to inspect the first of a fleet of trains to be upgraded to improve access for people with disabilities.
The Queensland Government has invested $48.5 million to upgrade existing rollingstock on the rail network, including the fleet of 87 three-carriage EMUs.
Media are invited to inspect the trains with Minister Mickel.
