Fatal Busway Accident To Be Fully Investigated

Minister for Transport, John Mickel, this afternoon visited the Eastern Busway site after a fatal workplace accident earlier in the day.

“I want to extend sincere condolences to the family of the worker who sadly and tragically lost his life,” Mr Mickel said.

“One of my priorities was to offer support to the man’s work mates, and to be assured and satisfied that the accident will be thoroughly investigated.

“We need to understand exactly what happened, and how it happened.

“I received an initial briefing on the circumstances of the accident and was advised that Work Health and Safety Queensland were on site and have commenced an extensive investigation.”

“The safety and welfare of everyone who works on our project sites is our highest priority”
