Queensland’s Scenic Rim is featuring in a $150,000 tourism campaign in Sydney and Melbourne as part of a campaign which began earlier in the month and runs until Christmas.

Queensland Tourism Minister Desley Boyle said the national print, magazine and online campaign was being run by Tourism Queensland in partnership with Virgin Blue/Blue Holidays and local tourism operators.

“This is the first time the area has featured in a significant interstate campaign,” she said.

“One of the campaign’s main objectives is to generate interest in the Scenic Rim, 90 minutes south-west of Brisbane.

“The campaign reveals the diverse range of short break holidays available, drawing attention to the unique landscape of volcanic mountains, rainforests and rivers and showing the tranquillity and seclusion.”

Ms Boyle said the campaign, expected to reach more than three million people, was funded through the Great Sunshine Way and Scenic Rim Tourism Project Grants and includes 11 Scenic Rim tourism operators.

“The campaign offers Scenic Rim operators a coordinated and cost-effective opportunity to promote their products and encourages the local industry to work together and provide value-added deals,” she said.
