Minister for Health
The Honourable Stephen Robertson

OPPOSITION CAUGHT OUT AGAIN

The State Opposition’s health fear campaign descended into farce today when Lawrence Springborg admitted removing recent LNP press releases from the internet.

Health Minister Stephen Robertson said the LNP’s censorship tactics were an attempt to hide an embarrassing series of health policy backflips by the opposition.

“This is policy on the run from a clueless opposition which changes its mind on important health issues day-by-day and hour-by-hour,” Mr Robertson said.

“Lawrence Springborg is so embarrassed by his own sloppy and inadequate health policies that he’s been ripping them down from the LNP’s own website.

“This is an opposition that’s so ashamed of its health policies that it doesn’t even want the public to know about them.

“In the latest embarrassing incident, the Opposition have been caught out changing policy on media, advertising and public relations.

“The Opposition now claims it wants costs cut, however two years ago, they were promising $2 million to health promotion and another $4.35 million for oral health promotion campaigns.

“Today they want us to cut costs on media, advertising and public relations but they clearly don’t understand this is the area which supports and carries out these important community health campaigns.

“If Lawrence Springborg and Mark McArdle aren’t up to the job of running a coherent health policy, how are they going to run Queensland’s multi-billion public health system?

“Queenslanders deserve better from the opposition than sneaky censorship tactics.

“There’s a health policy black hole at the heart of the LNP, which has failed Queenslanders yet again,” Mr Robertson said.
