Media Alert: Minister launches Energy Skills Queensland and visits Bayside school

Education and Training Minister Rod Welford will launch Energy Skills Queensland, the centre of excellence for the energy industry, at Herston tomorrow.

Energy Skills Queensland is one of five centres of excellence which have been established to lead skills development across a range of industries in Queensland.

WHERE: Murrayfield Room, Ballymore Rugby Union Club, Clyde Road, Herston

WHEN: Wednesday 5 November, 9am

Minister Welford will also visit Wondall Heights State School tomorrow with league legend and Suncorp Sunwise Smart Moves ambassador, Shane Webcke, to present the school with a $12,000 tree planting prize.

Students in Year 6W at the school won the tree planting day by entering the Suncorp Sunwise Smart Moves Challenge.

The class secured an encouragement award for their short film entry titled, Better Health Better Life.
