Treasurer to back a Queenslander, again

After backing last year’s Melbourne Cup winner Efficient, like all good Treasurers Andrew Fraser is backing Queensland horse Ice Chariot for an upset win in tomorrow’s Cup.

“Ice Chariot is a former Queensland Derby winner, is from the stables of Toowoomba trainer Ron Maund and has inform ex-Queensland hoop Michael Rodd on board,” Mr Fraser said.

“Ice Chariot has run strongly in recent weeks and with a light weight I think he’s a good chance.

“Just like the Queensland economy, he’s a stayer who is capable of producing the goods.

“I’ll back the Queenslander to run a strong race and finish ahead of the pack.”
