Joint Statement - BAC sponsorship of Crime Stoppers
Police Minister Judy Spence has welcomed the news that the sponsorship deal between Crime Stoppers and the Brisbane Airport Corporation is not under threat.
Ms Spence said: "I welcome the BAC’s offer to continue sponsorship of Crime Stoppers regardless of whether their logo appears on police cars.
"I expect the Police Commissioner's report to me on this matter by this evening, and I will decide a course of action within 48hours," Ms Spence said.
Commissioner Atkinson said: “Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit community group which provides a wonderful service to the Queensland community.
"I am heartened to learn that BAC’s sponsorship deal will not be affected by the outcome of this decision. This is indicative of the community spirit which led the BAC to support Crime Stoppers in the first case," Commissioner Atkinson said.
