Bligh stands on Labor’s strong green record
The Government won’t be distracted by Ronan Lee’s defection and will continue building on its already strong environmental record, Premier Anna Bligh said this afternoon.
The Premier in responding to news that Member for Indooroopilly Ronan Lee has quit the Labor Party.
“I am very disappointed with his decision. It does not make any sense. It is governments that protect the environment.
“My Government’s efforts include; protecting the Great Barrier Reef from proposed shale oil mining in the Whitsundays, expansions of the National Park estate, working to protect Moreton Bay, gazetting the first six Wild Rivers in North Queensland, Climate Change Home Service and the Solar Bonus Scheme.
“I won’t be distracted by this. We have a strong environmental record and we will continue to build on it,” she said.
