Minister for Emergency Services
The Honourable Neil Roberts
Renovations for Moura ambulance station begin
Works on the $600,000 refurbishment of the Moura Ambulance Station are about to commence, Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts said.
Visiting Moura today, Mr Roberts said construction is expected to start this month.
“The Moura Ambulance Station has been an excellent facility since its construction in 1974,” Mr Roberts said.
“However, the Bligh Government is committed to providing our hard-working ambulance officers with the resources they need to deliver first-class pre-hospital health care.
“The refurbished facility at Moura will include extensive renovations to the operational area of the existing station and upgrades of the training room, vehicle storage areas and relief quarters.
“A new storage shed will also be constructed at the rear of the station building, with vehicle access via a new concrete driveway.
“Moura is well-served by its local ambulance team. This refurbishment will help them continue to provide high-quality ambulance services to the area.”
Mr Roberts said the QAS capital works program is delivering for Central Queensland.
“Last week I opened the new $1.04 million station in Carmila, and now we have signed a contract for the refurbishment of Moura.
“A replacement station for Clermont and a refurbishment for Duaringa are planned to reach completion this financial year, while planning is well underway on a replacement station for Mount Morgan.
“The Bligh Government has allocated $31.2 million on capital works for the QAS this financial year.
“We are committed to improving services in rural and regional Queensland.”
