Minister for Transport, Trade, Employment and Industrial Relations
The Honourable John Mickel

‘DO THE BUS STOP’ AT VALLEY FIESTA

The volume wont be the only thing turned up at this year’s Valley Fiesta with the number of NightLink bus services almost doubled to get patrons home safely and quickly.

Transport Minister John Mickel said with a massive 120,000 patrons expected in the Valley from Friday 12 September until Sunday 14 September, TransLink would step up to the challenge of moving these extra people.

"NightLink bus services will be virtually doubled and operate every 30 minutes instead of hourly from 1am until 5am on Saturday and Sunday," he said.

Mr Mickel urged revellers to avoid a ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘Do the Bus Stop’ instead.
“NightLink is a hassle-free and cheaper way for revellers to get home safe and sound.

"NightLink services leaving the Valley and City on Friday and Saturday nights are already very popular - you don't have to wait for a cab, or worry about parking, and they’re inexpensive.

“But this weekend is special so we’ve doubled our efforts so thousands of revellers can enjoy themselves and get home easily.”

Onboard security staff will be at NightLink bus stops in the Valley and CBD.

As an extra bonus, NightLink will drop you off anywhere along the route where it is safe for the driver to stop.
