The Honourable Geoff Wilson

Team helps deliver $1 million power boost for Warwick

A new $1 million high-voltage feeder line has been installed in the West Warwick substation more than a month ahead of schedule, Mines and Energy Minister Geoff Wilson said today.

Mr Wilson said the additional 11kV feeder would deliver a more reliable electricity to the Warwick region.

“The new feeder, which was commissioned on Friday, will ease the load on existing urban feeders at both the West and East Warwick substations,” Mr Wilson said.

Mr Wilson said businesses in the Warwick CBD would benefit from a boost to their local power supply.

“The additional feeder will also give Ergon Energy more flexibility to manage unplanned outages and undertake maintenance.”

Mr Wilson said the local crew had worked hard to complete the project before the spring storm season.

The new feeder is part of a range of major work underway to boost the power supply for Warwick.
