Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology
The Honourable Robert Schwarten
NEW WALL SHEETING FOR CAMBOOYA SCHOOL
Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten today announced almost $10,000 in funding for maintenance at Cambooya State School.
Mr Schwarten said a recent inspection of the school by QBuild officers identified the need for the work.
“I am delighted that funding from the Department of Public Works’ emergency maintenance fund is available to enable this project to be completed,” Mr Schwarten said.
“The external wall sheeting to Modular Building 1 will be replaced.”
“The work will be completed as soon as possible with every effort being made to minimise disruption to classes.”
Mr Schwarten said the funding demonstrated the Bligh Government’s commitment to properly maintaining public infrastructure for the benefit of the community.
“The emergency maintenance fund was developed to complement existing maintenance programs and specifically to undertake projects that arose in the course of the year or that were unable to be completed by the school because of the magnitude of the cost,” he said.
“QBuild, the State Government’s construction and maintenance division, will manage the project."
