A free contractor education seminar being held in Warwick on August 27 will give builders the opportunity to update their skills and learn about new standards and regulations.

Public Works and Housing Minister Robert Schwarten said the shows had been organised by the Queensland Building Services Authority in partnership with Construction Skills Queensland.

“To improve work standards and help Queenslanders build better, the BSA and CSQ have come together to deliver events like this across the state,” Mr Schwarten said.

“The seminar will include live and DVD presentations on a range of topics including rainwater tank installation, site supervision, waterproofing, the BSA’s dispute resolution process and compliance with the BSA’s subsidence policy.”

The seminar will be held at the Warwick RSL Club at the corner or King and Albion Streets, starting at 3.00pm.

“This is a great opportunity for builders working in the Warwick region to get updated on new standards and regulations, see demonstrations of best practice methods, and find out how to avoid building pitfalls,” Mr Schwarten said.

Contractors are urged to reserve a place by contacting BSA on 1300 272 272, or visiting the BSA website at www.bsa.qld.gov.au. The complete schedule can also be found on the website.
