Minister for Emergency Services
The Honourable Neil Roberts
An ambulance officer will be placed in Richmond tonight (Friday 18 July), Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts said.
Mr Roberts said the paramedic would provide emergency coverage until Tuesday, and then be replaced by two Queensland Health nurses.
“Ambulance duties in Richmond are normally provided by Queensland Health officers using QAS vehicles and equipment,” Mr Roberts said.
“Due to an unexpected vacancy, the QAS will post an ambulance officer at Richmond temporarily from tonight to provide ambulance coverage to the area.
”I’m advised that the two Queensland Health nurses, who both have paramedic training, will begin on Tuesday.
“We have made this temporary arrangement to ensure Richmond has an emergency medical presence in the area, should it be needed.”
