Bligh goes into bat for Sunshine Coast
Premier Anna Bligh has successfully asked the Rugby League International Federation to include the Sunshine Coast in the State’s coastal tour of the Rugby League World Cup.
“As part of the World Cup program the Sunshine Coast is to host the French team and also Police Rugby League World Cup,” said the Premier.
“The trophy is to tour coastal Queensland and I have asked that the Sunshine Coast be added to the original program.
“The Sunshine Coast will now be first to host the World Cup.
“It will be dropping into the Coast on Saturday November 8 and there will be local celebrations linked to its being there,” said Ms Bligh.
