Workshops help local businesses position themselves for success

This month the Brisbane Northside Regional Centre is offering two workshops to local businesses looking to improve their business operations and get ahead.

Tourism, Regional Development and Industry Minister Desley Boyle said with today’s competitive corporate environment, business operators could not afford to miss the workshops.

“Growing Your Business Using Technology (1) is part of a series of workshops, designed to provide an understanding of how using the latest technology can promote business growth,” Ms Boyle said.

“The workshop concentrates on marketing through a website and covers the elements of a website that encourages growth, and as well participants will learn how to use new technology to drive their business further.

Member for Aspley Bonny Barry said the workshops would help give local businesses a competitive edge.

“Participants will learn how to better use email, conduct research and understand how search engines work effectively, focussing on both technology and key success factors for their business,” Ms Barry said.

Growing Your Business Using Technology (1) costs $44 and will be held on 28 July from 6:00–8:30pm at Brisbane Northside Regional Centre, Level 2 Suite 1, Homemaker City, 825 Zillmere Road (Corner of Gympie and Zillmere Roads), Aspley.

Director for the Department’s Brisbane Northside Regional Centre Zel Goldman said local businesses could also benefit from attending the Leading Edge – Actions for Success) workshop.

“In Leading Edge – Actions for Success, participants will be provided with information and examples, to help them develop strategies to attract and retain customers,” Mr Goldman said.

“The workshop is designed for business owners who have recently commenced operations as well as those who wish to improve their client relations.

“Upon completion, participants will have developed a memorable and powerful, unique selling proposition for their business and a business action plan, intended to differentiate their business,”she said.

Leading Edge – Actions for Success costs $44 and will be held on 30 July from 6:00–9:00pm at Brisbane Northside Regional Centre.
