Main Roads Fitzroy staff chalk up combined 425 years service

Main Roads recently presented 13 staff members from the Fitzroy Region with long service awards for contributing 25 years or more service to the department.

Main Roads Minister Warren Pitt said it was always a pleasure to be able to recognise the significant contribution that such long-serving staff had made to the department.

"I would like to personally congratulate and thank the staff members concerned, each of whom have helped Main Roads to continue connecting Queensland for a quarter of a century or longer," Mr Pitt said.

"Brett Malamoo, Fred Doyle, Brett Stenhouse, Greg Legh, Peter Schwarten, Doug Bignell, David Tootell, Peter Nolan, Dan Casey, Rex Cowan, John Clegg, Henry Crichton and Bill Bowtell have contributed a combined total of 425 years service between them."

“Two staffers were recognised for 25 years service to the department, four for 35 years, five staff members were acknowledged for 35 years service, and two staff members were recognised for a remarkable 40 years of service.”

Main Roads Network Planning and Performance Manager Dan Casey said it was pleasing to be recognised for his contribution to the department over the past 35 years.

"Since commencing with Main Roads in 1973, I have seen enormous changes in the surrounding structure and culture of the people at Main Roads," Mr Casey said.

"It is interesting to see how much the establishment has grown over this time."

Mr Casey is one of five staff members that were recognised for more than 30 years service with Main Roads.
