Premier
The Honourable Anna Bligh
SES volunteer’s distinguished service recognised
Maryborough State Emergency Service (SES) volunteer Allan Kruger has been recognised for more than 25 years of outstanding service.
Premier Anna Bligh and Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts presented a meritorious service medal to Mr Kruger at a morning tea at Queen’s Park, Maryborough to pay tribute to the work of emergency service volunteers. The morning tea was held to coincide with the Bligh Government’s Community Cabinet meeting on the Fraser Coast today and tomorrow.
“Allan Kruger joined the SES in Maryborough in 1982, and he has served with distinction over that time,” Ms Bligh said.
“Allan has been an active member, he has been a leader and a trainer. His involvement in many SES tasks whether it has been responding to storm damage, searches for missing people or training.”
“On behalf of the Government and the community, I would like to thank Allan for his generation of service and acknowledge the support from his family and friends.”
Mr Roberts said Mr Kruger was one of thousands of Queenslanders who selflessly volunteer their time to emergency service organisations, such as the SES.
“I join the Premier in congratulating Allan Kruger on his service to the SES and his community, and the encouragement he has given to others to join the SES over many years,” he said.
