Minister for Main Roads and Local Government
The Honourable Warren Pitt

Minister out of action with bout of shingles

Treasurer Andrew Fraser will be Acting Minister for Main Roads and Local Government this week while regular Minister Warren Pitt recovers from a bout of shingles.

Mr Pitt said today his doctor had advised him to undergo intravenous treatment in hospital in Brisbane.

“Normally, it wouldn’t be necessary to have to go to hospital. But my immune system is still recovering from the lymphoma illness I had, and the doctor thought the best way to knock the shingles on the head was with intravenous treatment.

“Apart from some discomfort I’m feeling fine, and I intend to be back at work next week,” he said.

Mr Pitt said while Minister Fraser handled his portfolio duties, he would be in regular touch with his electorate office, which would continue to attend to local constituent matters.
