Minister for Tourism, Regional Development and Industry
The Honourable Desley Boyle

Cairns business owners encouraged to attend valuable workshops

Want to get the most out of business planning? Or the keys to exceptional customer service?

This month the Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry’s Cairns Centre is running workshops for locals looking to improve their business practices.

Tourism, Regional Development and Industry Minister Desley Boyle said running a business could be very demanding, making some businesses neglect to evaluate their operations.

“In Getting The Most From Your Business Planning, participants should have a clear understanding of the concepts of competitive advantage, unique selling proposition, cash flow statements and budgets,” Ms Boyle said.

“Those who have that understanding will get the most from the workshop as they can identify and discuss the Business Process Planning Model and use the business planning tools,” she said.

“From there, attendees can develop a tailored action plan and identify Critical Success Factors (CSF) targeted specifically for their business.”

Getting The Most From Your Business Planning costs $33 (inc GST) to attend and will be held on 25 June from 6.00-9.00pm at Cairns Regional Centre, Cairns Port Authority Building, Cnr Grafton & Hartley Street.

For more information, or to book for any of the workshops, contact the Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry Centre in Cairns on (07) 4048 1111 or visit www.dtrdi.qld.gov.au/cairns
