Minister for Main Roads and Local Government
The Honourable Warren Pitt

Regional transport to be discussed at Logan ministerial forum

Regional transport will be on the agenda at the Ministerial Regional Community Forum in Logan on Monday 16 June.

Police, Corrective Services and Sport Minister Judy Spence, Health Minister Stephen Robertson; and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, Training and the Arts Bonny Barry are scheduled to attend the forum.

Main Roads and Local Government Minister Warren Pitt, who is responsible for Ministerial Regional Community Forums, said the three parliamentarians would discuss local regional transport issues with regional representatives, known as forum members.

“I encourage anyone interested in these local issues to attend as part of the public audience and listen to the views of forum members and the attending members of Parliament,” Mr Pitt said.

The forum will take place at Logan City Recreational and Sporting Club, 4 Alba Lane, Kingston, from 12:30pm, with registration from noon.

Ministerial Regional Community Forums have been held since 1999 and are conducted up to four times a year in regions across Queensland.

The public meetings bring together Cabinet ministers and appointed regional leaders to share information and discuss topics relevant to the region.

“The forums enable the Queensland Government to keep in touch with communities and be better informed about regional issues of concern,” Mr Pitt said.
