Minister for Main Roads and Local Government
The Honourable Warren Pitt

Blueprint’s themes to be discussed at Clermont forum

The Queensland Government’s Blueprint for the Bush will be on the agenda at the Ministerial Regional Community Forum for the Mackay–Whitsunday region in Clermont on Monday 16 June.

Primary Industries and Fisheries Minister Tim Mulherin, Sustainability, Climate Change and Innovation Minister Andrew McNamara and Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Ronan Lee are scheduled to attend the forum.

Main Roads and Local Government Minister Warren Pitt, who is responsible for Ministerial Regional Community Forums, said the three parliamentarians would discuss the Blueprint’s themes of liveability, prosperity and sustainability and their application to Clermont with regional representatives, known as forum members.

“I encourage anyone interested in these local issues to attend as part of the public audience and listen to the views of forum members and the attending members of Parliament,” Mr Pitt said.

The forum will take place at the Civic Centre, Belyando Shire Hall, Daintree Street, Clermont, from 9.30am.

Ministerial Regional Community Forums have been held since 1999 and are conducted up to four times a year in regions across Queensland.

The public meetings bring together Cabinet ministers and appointed regional leaders to share information and discuss topics relevant to the region.

“The forums enable the Queensland Government to keep in touch with communities and be better informed about regional issues of concern,” Mr Pitt said.
