The State Emergency Service (SES) Hotline has fielded more than 1000 calls for assistance during severe weather affecting southern Queensland regions since late last week.
Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts said while severe weather conditions were expected to ease, severe weather warnings remained current this morning and Emergency Management Queensland is continuing to monitor conditions today.
“SES crews have been busy since late last week. There have been 1044 calls for assistance have been made to the SES Hotline 132 500 since last Thursday,” he said.
“In addition, fire and rescue staff performed six swift-water rescues yesterday.”
