Minister for Tourism, Regional Development and Industry
The Honourable Desley Boyle

A workshop will be run tonight in Toowoomba to help small business operators become more internet savvy, Minister for Regional Development and Industry Desley Boyle said today.

Ms Boyle encouraged local business owners to attend the De-mystifying the web workshop because it would help operators understand the potential benefits to their business of being online.

“The internet is crucial in today’s business environment – but for many small business operators using the internet is still mystifying,” Ms Boyle said.

“Workshop participants will walk away with a thorough understanding of the wide range of online tools available to them.”

Member for Toowoomba North Kerry Shine encouraged local business operators to attend the workshop.

“I know many operators in the area that could benefit enormously from this type of training – it’ll help you and your staff work smarter,” Mr Shine said.

“Participants will learn vital skills including how to use the web as a marketing tool, e-commerce solutions, email marketing campaigns and how to put into place a Customer Relationship Management system.”

Toowoomba Centre Director Royce Brown said local business would find the workshop invaluable.

“We are here to provide assistance to local business operators on a number of levels and our workshops are just one way in which we can help them grow,” Mr Brown said.

The workshops will be held today from 6-8.30pm at Cathedral Centre, 123 Neil Street, Toowoomba.
