The Honourable Anna Bligh
Vale - Lance Corporal Jason Marks
Premier Anna Bligh today paid tribute to Lance Corporal Jason Marks, 27, from Yeppoon, killed on a commando mission in Afghanistan overnight.
“Our thoughts and our prayers are with Jason’s wife, their two children and their family,” said the Premier.
Lance Corporal Jason Marks was part of the Sydney-based 4RAR commando unit.
“It is always sad when such a young life is lost. He was part of our nation’s defence of freedom and he has died a hero.
“I ask that Queenslanders spare a thought for Jason and his family and also for his Army mates continuing to secure safety in Afghanistan,” she said.
