GIBSON LAUGHS AT VICTIMS – A DISGRACE!

The Leader of Government Business in State Parliament, Robert Schwarten, has today labelled Member for Gympie David Gibson a disgrace following Mr Gibson’s laughter at the victims of a venture involving disbarred Sunshine Coast lawyer Terry Boyce and Caloundra MP Mark McArdle.

Mr Schwarten said he was stunned by Mr Gibson’s behaviour.

“I was making a statement to the Parliament outlining questions to Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg regarding Mr McArdle’s alleged ongoing business relationships with Mr Boyce.”

“But Mr Gibson, who may very well have constituents who lost their life savings in Boyce Garrick Managed Investments, was laughing at their plight – a most unusual and callous response,” Mr Schwarten Said.

Mr Schwarten called on Mr Gibson to get to the bottom of the allegations.

“I want to know why, according to Australian Security and Investment Commission documents, Mr McArdle is still involved in a company with Terry Boyce when two years ago he claimed he no longer had any dealings with him, and whether Mr Gibson thinks this is okay,” he said.

“I want Mr Gibson to tell his constituents what is so amusing about pensioners and mum and dads losing their life savings in a company which has links to his Deputy Leader is funny.

“The people of Gympie deserve better from their local member.

“His actions were shameful and hurtful to those hardworking Queenslanders who have lost out in this sorry affair.”
