Business TV series to showcase innovative talent this Sunday
Talented Queensland companies who were finalists in the Australian Technology Showcase Awards will be profiled on Channel 9 this Sunday.
Regional Development and Industry Minister Desley Boyle said the Your Business Success episode would highlight the companies’ innovative technologies.
Based in Nambour, EcoNova will be featured, along with the two other finalists, App-Tek International and Grabba International, and the winner, Battlefield Sports.
EcoNova’s patented NovaClear system is designed to recycle all typical household wastewater to highest quality reusable water, as recognised by the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency.
The safe reusable water can be used for many household applications (other than human consumption) such as watering plants, washing dishes, cars, clothing, pets and driveways.
One thousand NovaClear systems installed in households throughout Australia are helping to save more than 730,000 KL of water.
“The Australian Technology Showcase is supported by the Bligh Government through the Department of Tourism, Regional Development and industry,” Ms Boyle said.
“We work with Queensland businesses with innovative ideas and technologies to help them grow their business.
“We want to help them increase exports and attract venture capital investment, and we offer a range of support to do so. This includes anything from business development assistance to producing marketing materials and taking part in promotional activities.”
The top 2007 Australian Technology Showcase Award was won by Coopers Plains company Battlefield Sports which received a $5000 cash prize.
Finalists are also encouraged to enter the Premier of Queensland’s Smart Awards which recognise innovative Queensland-based businesses for their ingenuity and success.
The 2008 Smart Awards presentation dinner will be held on 31 July at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre. For information on the Smart Awards visit: www.smartawards.qld.gov.au
